"In today's world, physical pain has become the focus of our attention. Not only does pain debilitate us, but it also robs us of our hopes, dreams, energy, confidence and motivation. The good news is that physical pain, be it chronic or episodic, can be eradicated permanently. All a person needs is the knowledge of the true cause of pain and a personally directed plan to treat the cause."
What is it?
The application of essential oils through a variety of different techniques including massage, to maintain or restore physical, mental and emotional health and vitality.
Why?
Essential oils, the tools of aromatherapy, are extracted from a wide variety of plants and are extremely concentrated. Each oil has its own unique healing properties and fragrance.
To a properly trained Holistic Aromatherapist, the treatment goes beyond the mere application of essential oils. She will endeavour to help the whole person in restoring and/or maintaining optimum health, considering the physical, mental and emotional state of her client.
Healing occurs on all levels and the combination of oils is unique to the person being treated. The oils can be applied in a variety of pleasant ways. They can be absorbed through the skin by massage, bathing or applying a compress or skin preparation. They can also be inhaled and will occasionally be recommended to be taken orally.
The aroma alone can have a real effect on the mind, and via the mind the body.

Working holistically, we balance the body, mind, spirit and emotions to produce optimum health and well-being on all levels. Our professionalism and 18 years of experience enable us to establish the body’s healing needs, ensuring the best possible treatment for each individual.
Each treatment, or combination of treatments, is different and unique to each person, using a variety of massage techniques to maximise the healing effects of the Essential oils.
During an aromatherapy treatment several oils are used, blended together in a unique combination for each individual and are selected according to each individual’s needs, promoting the body’s own ability to balance, restore and renew itself.
Oils are absorbed into the body through the skin and the inhalation of the aroma.
Where does it originate from?
The art and science of aromatherapy has its roots in the most ancient healing practices of mankind. The science of aromatherapy and essential oils is as old as the beginning of time, although it was lost through the ages and has only begun to make its reentry into the modern world during the last 50 years.
The ancient knowledge of the elements was given to us at the time of the Creation for the healing, sustaining and protection of mankind. Ancient records indicate that natural elements were mankind’s first medicine. Essential oils were used by Christ and biblical prophets such as Abraham and Moses as well as kings, priests, emperors and pharaohs from different cultures and times, to promote youthfulness, beauty and protection from disease and plagues. Science continues to validate the many powerful uses of essential oils, including their immune-supporting properties.
Archaeology, and later written histories, proves that from early times, the medicinal qualities of certain aromatic plants were recognised. There is also proof that their various 'aromas' were used to create a general sense of well-being. In the West, it was only the dawn of the new science of chemistry in the 17th century that led to the use of chemical substances in medicine. Plant healing although never totally abandoned, (for example the discoveries of quinine and morphine in the 18th and 19th centuries) began to be dismissed as old fashioned and was gradually supplanted by synthetic drugs, especially in the second half of the 20th century.
Unfortunately, these drugs have not always been successful and often lead to disturbing side-effects This, added to concerns about big business involvement in the pharmaceutical industry, has led to a renewed interest in the use of plants and plant products in a more holistic and natural form.
Aromatherapy does not dismiss the great scientific advances of the last few centuries neither does it advocate the rejection of conventional medicine in a client’s treatment. Although still classed as an alternative treatment in the UK it is rapidly gaining the support of doctors internationally and can be used to compliment many other forms of treatment both orthodox and unorthodox.
How much does it cost?
Each treatment session is £80 for a 60 minute massage including a unique prescription blend of essential oils for each individual client.
